Oh, the weather outside is frightful...

There really shouldn't be that many different kinds of precipitation falling at once.  At least it makes for a very colorful weather map.  Also, 16 mph winds and ice pellets? Equals ow.

ETA: Now it says "Ice Pellets Freezing Fog Blowing Snow".  Whee....

Yeah, our weather map is just as scary. (northeast)

There's snow, and rain. There should NOT be any other kinds of precipitation. Ever.

Ha! I totally agree. What sucks is that it's cold enough that it definitely should be snow, but somewhere up there is clearly a warmer layer of air that's melting the snow enough so that it refreezes and forms pellets instead of flakes. Blech.

and for info, north queensland is expecting the imminent arrival of a category 5 cyclone - just as a follow up to the massive floods.

Ahaha, your icon is so appropriate.

Yeah, I'm in Missouri and it's less colorful, but still rather impressive. We've got the sleet and the ice, but no snow yet. Still waiting for that to pop up. :/ I wonder how much we'll get.

Freezing fog? What does that even mean? Sheesh!

We've got snow and freezing rain here - I love it as long as we still have power, but wow. Y'all are gettin' nailed!

Bundle up and stay warm!!!

ditto! Thank heavens for the technology that lets some of us work from home. Brrrr.... And it's amazing how much of the country is being whalloped by this storm.

Yeah, it's from Louisiana to Michigan at this point, and almost as far across. It's been a wild winter, that's for sure...

Now that's actual snow, right? Because out here it's sleet, with the exact consistency of sugar. Which means it blows around real easy but is also really heavy to shovel...

LOL Yes snow for real. It's whipping around from the wind but it's also starting to settle on the ground and with everyone walking and driving through it, it's packing down and such.

Yeah, I have family down there who said it was just as bad weatherwise, but of course there aren't the snowplows to deal with it like there are here. Stay warm!
